Setup / Starting Position
  • Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, toes pointing forward.
  • Hold a barbell with an overhand grip (palms facing down), hands positioned slightly wider than shoulder-width apart, resting on your upper back.
  • Keep your chest up and shoulders back throughout the exercise.
Exercise Position
  • Raise one heel off the ground by extending your ankle as high as possible.
  • Hold the top position briefly to squeeze your calf muscle.
Form & Performance
  • Lower your heel back down to the starting position, allowing your ankle to flex and stretch your calf muscle.
  • Avoid dropping your heel below the level of your toes at the bottom of the movement.
