Setup / Starting Position
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, toes pointing forward.
- Hold a barbell with an overhand grip (palms facing down), hands positioned slightly wider than shoulder-width apart, resting on your upper back.
- Keep your chest up and shoulders back throughout the exercise.
Exercise Position
- Raise your heels off the ground by extending your ankles as high as possible.
- Hold the top position briefly to squeeze your calf muscles.
Form & Performance
- Lower your heels back down to the starting position, allowing your ankles to flex and stretch your calf muscles.
- Avoid dropping your heels below the level of your toes at the bottom of the movement.
