Setup / Starting Position
  • Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart, holding a barbell with an overhand grip, hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
  • Let the barbell hang down in front of your thighs with arms fully extended.
Exercise Position
  • Inhale and explosively pull the barbell upwards towards your shoulders, using the power from your legs and hips.
  • As the barbell reaches chest height, quickly drop into a squat and catch the barbell overhead in a fully extended position.
Form & Performance
  • Keep your core engaged and back straight throughout the movement.
  • Use the momentum from the pull to drive the barbell upwards.
