Setup / Starting Position
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, toes pointing forward.
- Hold a barbell with an overhand grip (palms facing forward), hands positioned slightly wider than shoulder-width apart, resting on your upper chest.
- Keep your chest up, shoulders back, and core engaged throughout the exercise.
Exercise Position
- Press the barbell overhead by extending your arms fully, pushing the barbell upwards until your arms are straight overhead.
- Keep your wrists straight and elbows locked out at the top of the movement.
Form & Performance
- Lower the barbell back down to the starting position under control, bending your elbows and lowering the barbell to your upper chest.
- Avoid arching your back or leaning excessively backward during the movement.
