Setup / Starting Position
  • Sit on a bench with your feet flat on the floor and your knees bent at a 90-degree angle.
  • Hold a barbell with an overhand grip (palms facing down), hands positioned slightly wider than shoulder-width apart, and arms extended straight down in front of you.
Exercise Position
  • Raise the barbell up to shoulder height, keeping your arms straight and elbows slightly bent.
  • Pause at the top of the movement, then lower the barbell back down towards the starting position.
Form & Performance
  • Focus on lifting the barbell with your shoulders, keeping your core engaged for stability.
  • Avoid using momentum to lift the weight, and control the descent of the barbell.
